Question 4 Susan
Susan,
On several of your messages you noted "My Book" and.... I was just wondering if this is a book that Dr. Gibbs suggest we read or is it one he gives us? It just seems to have so much information. In one of your recent post you noted several of the soft foods to start with. Thought maybe I would just ask ya about the book because it would be so helpful to me to get a copy.
I have not gone for my final one on one consult. I will do it the day before surgery. I thought I would like to have a copy of it to refer to (my memory forgets to keep up with things). I am really interested in reading what & when i should start eating different foods. ( Don't want to damage my innerds after surgery!) LOL Any suggestions anyone can swing my way would be greatly appreciated!

21 days and counting
Thank you Susan. I have an appointment with JoBeth and Dr. Gibbs tha same day. I am sure Carrie will get me all the info I need. They have been great to call & even mail me a packet to fill out before I went to the seminar. I have 20 days to go & am sooooo excited! Thanks for letting me know!
Hugs~

Hi Rhonda,
I'm going to jump in on this conversation. Dr. Gibbs did my surgery too. JoBeth will give you the book when you meet with her and she'll go through it with you. She'll point out everything and write stuff down in it to help you along. It has been a lifesaver for me, no guessing on anything. You'll spend about an hour with her and she is very thorough and she'll give you her email and phone numbers so you can contact her after surgery with any questions you may have.
No need to worry, they'll take good care of you!

Denise~
Thank you so much for your post. I am so ready to get started. I have read that alot of people have trouble getting their protien in. I have tried the New-Whey liquid protien. The grape flavor is actually pretty good if you delute it w/ water & add it to shaved ice. I bet my taste buds change after surgery because of the gallbladder. I am looking foreward to meeting with JoBeth. I know she will know exactly what to do with someone like me that does not eat yougart or cottage cheese and I am not real crazy about any fruit except bananas. I don't know how I got so big.....I am a pickey eater! LOL Everyone is so helpful. Thanks again!
Hugs,
Rhonda
I'll jump in also...... JoBeth is excellent although she never responded to some questions I had post-op. Pay attention to brands and labeling she mentions. Take notes and I took my husband and he was of some help later in remembering what she said.. I use the protein from GNC with fat free milk and the sugar free syrups available at WalMart and Sams. Really quite tasty! Bought a Magic Bullet Blender off of EBay which was perfect for the liquid part of your recovery diet. I'm not quite 6 months out and have lost almost 90 pounds. Its really a shame that I had to lose almost 80 before people started noticing and I HAD to buy a few new pieces of clothing. I and my clothes must have been stretched to the gills before!!LOL!!! The BEST part is how great you feel. Good lluck!
PS The White Chocolate Instant Sugar free Jello pudding is fantastic. Mix with fat free milk add some protein powderand some ice cubes......mmmmmmmmm!
