Dates
If you are planning on going to any other seminars, Dr. Gibbs has one this month. Not sure what date but you could call the office and find out. He is my Doc. I have not had my surgery yet. I am self pay so I did not have any issues with insurance. If you are self pay or already approved for the surgery, your looking at 2 weeks out with Dr. Gibbs. He does surgery 3 times a week i think. They had a several openings before my April 6th date but I felt I could not get all my "STUFF" done before then. I overherd several of the nurses at one of the seminars talking about the influx of patients since medicare approved the surgery. That could be why the Docs are really busy also. It won't cost you anything to go to another seminar and you might find it could be very benificial to you in the long run. Hope this helps.

Thank you and yes I did call Dr. Gibbs. They were so nice and understanding and stated that just as soon they can get me approved (my insurance, which does pay) that they would do there best to get me scheduled as soon as possible.
With one of the other doctors, I am on a waiting list. I am number 26 and probably a schedule date sometime in June, July or August but if I decide not to use my insurance and be self pay, I can move right up the food chain (no pun intended).
It's no wonder to me with all the commercials he's doing that he has a waiting list. Are you having a lap band or rny?
I could have gotten a date with Dr Gibbs within a couple of weeks, but since I chose to go to St Vincent's, where he only operates twice a month, it took me four weeks. I do wish I would have gone to Baptist instead.
