Newbie from Bentonville

Hi everyone! My name is Joyce, I am 33 years old and currently a resident of Bentonville, Arkansas. I am just starting my Bariatric Journey and need all the help and support I can get! I look forward to being meeting ya'll here and helping each other through this lifelong journey!

Joyce, Welcome to this site. It is the most awesome place you will find on your journey. I had WLS a week ago Monday, and I have not regretted one minute. I too am only 32, and on full disability from diseases caused or made worse by my obesity, so I feel your pain sister. But the best part is, now, you have made your choice and are on your way to the better part of life. Good luck on your journey, this is the place to ask questions and get honest answers. Hiya Jeannie! Very pleased to meet you! Thank you for the warm welcome! We are neighbors abt 20 miles apart! How neat is that?! I have not yet been approved. I have not yet applied. I have a long road ahead I am sure! I just talked with my PCP last week and she agreed that I should have the surgery. Now I have to find a surgeon to do it, that accepts Medicare. Also having some transportation issues. Pray for me!! Thanks again for welcoming me and I look forward to getting to know ya'll more!

Hey there Joyce. I live in Springdale, so we're close! Just wanted to say hello and tell you about a WLS support group that meets in Rogers. We meet the second Sunday each month at 2:00 at St. Marys in the Educational Auditorium. We have a great speaker this month. I'm sorry I can't remember her name. She will be talking about emotions and eating. She'll talk about ways to get past some of those sabatoging behaviors. I think it's gonna be great! I really, really hope you can attend. It would also give you an opportunity to talk to several people who have had the surgery and have used different surgeons. Best wishes!!! Margie
