Anyone NOT have to wait 1 yr doc supervised diet to get medicaid approved?

My husband has did all the lab work and such. The only thing that is really keeping him from advancing is having to have 1 year doctor supervised diet. Has anyone gotten approved by medicaid without having to wait? (His year started in August) He is on disability and public aid said he should be able to get spend-down. Dr. Jones office said they didnt know of anyway around the year wait. Any help appreciated.

My son's insurance is making him do a five month doctor supervised diet, which he is almost finished with. I don't think you can get around those rules, however, if your hubby has been seeing a doctor on a regular basis and has been spoken to about his weight, and that doctor has made recommendations, then that might can be considered.
