THV doing story tonight

Hi everyone, just wanted to remind you about THV doing the segment about WLS. There was a little teaser today about it and it looks like they are going to concentrate on Lap Band. Now, I have nothing against Lap Band surgery. I have nothing against Dr Welborn. BUT, what bothers me is that Dr Welborn is a major advertiser on this channel, and I don't think they are going to give a balanced report on weight loss surgery if all they talk about is lap band. I'm planning on watching it and sending an e-mail if this is all they talk about. Everyone is should have all the information available to them to make a good decision about this surgery. Yep, I'm on a soap box, but it's what I do. Susan

Dr. Welborn is my son's doctor and he tried to convince my son to have the lapband. My son is like me, he wants permanent and he wants fast. So, he is going for the bypas. I will try to watch the segment.

That's because lap is up and coming and that is what alot of people locally are having. Trust me, Dr. Wellborn PAYS for his advertisement. The other Dr's could have their say, for a price too. But hey, if ya got it to spend, they spend it.

I didn't mean to imply that Dr Wellborn DIDN'T pay for his advertising, only that I was concerned that the reporter at THV wouldn't give a balanced story. As it turns out, there was very little said about lap band,only that it was one of three surgical options, and it was a balanced, well done piece. As a matter of fact, Drs Gibbs and Baker were both interviewed on camera. That's the kind of advertising that NO ONE has to pay for!
