Its Official, I HAVE A DATE!!!!!
Ok, we are officially screaming at the top of my lungs I HAVE A DATE!!!!!!!! I saw Dr. Baker today at 11:40, depsite the weather, went to the hospital at 2 for pre-op and now im just in a daze!!!!
My surgery is February 12, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock!!! Im certainly doing the happy !! I never dreamed it would all happen so fast, thanks to EVERYONE who has sent up prayers for patience, and all those other things you know I need.
It will be Laproscopic RNY, I was sooooo impressed with Dr. Baker, so many folks have told me how harsh he can be, and how seemingly hateful he can be. Folks, not so today. He was very pleased that I have already changed many of my habits, to make the transition easier. His staff is the BOMB!!! Now if I can just keep myself calm between now and then long enough to get my house in order and things ready around here, I'll be better.
I'll keep you guys posted and warm up my spot Im on my way!!!!
Hugs and Good Luck to all,
Stay safe,
Rhonda
Hey Honey,
Soooooooooo happy you found a way to get to your appointment. DH and I went into LR about 9:30 this morning and the roads were fine, so I knew you'd make it.
I had a 5 week wait from the time I got my date to surgery. The waiting was awful. I cleaned house until there wasn't anything left to clean, read the message boards waaaaaaay too much( nearly drove myself crazy with that. One night I was alone, DH was at work, and I just sat and cried my eyes out. Just nerves, I guess.
So, Baker does Lap now? That's great. My 5 little scars are hardly noticeable now, and they were nothing to take care of. I'm so glad Gibbs didn't have to do it open.
We'll keep in touch, take care and don't stress yourself out. Your OH buddies will be here for ya!
Susan
I know you are soooooooooo excited. You'll hardly have time to get nervous! I had to wait for nearly 2 months from the time I got a date until actual surgery date, but I had to schedule it that way due to hubby's work schedule. You should have really great nurses at Baptist, mine were awesome day and night. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you about the hospital stay, I was just there 2 weeks ago.
I just read your profile and I'm so envious....I love horses and my oldest daughter just adores them.
Congratulations on getting your date, just try to stay busy between now and then.
Take care,
Denise
PS: I just noticed where you live, we're practically neighbors! I'm in Monticello, not too far from you.
Great news Rhonda!!!!! I'm so excited for you. I had no complaints about Baptist except for one of the night nurses. She didn't want to help me up to the bathroom, she wanted me to use the bed pan. I COULDN'T... it hurt my back soooo bad. I finally said, YOU HAVE TO HELP ME and she did. The day nurses and the other night nurses were great. I had a private room because when I feel bad (and I figured I would after major surgery)... I don't like to have to be socialable. My husband could have stayed the night, but I had him go back to the hotel (Baptist has a hotel close by with really good patient rates) so he could rest.
Wishing you the best and sending positive energy to you!!!
Margie
