Anyone on here work for Alltel or have BCBS of ARKANSAS???

Just curious what your experience was like getting the approval for Lap RNY. I am hoping there is someone out there... Jenifer

Hi, I have BCBS of Arkansas, but I had surgery 5 years ago. They approved me pretty easy and quickly, but I think it is harder now days.

Hi Marsha, Thank you for your reply. I know that things have changed over the past few years but how long did it take you to get the approval once your info was sent in to BCBS? Mine was sent today. I am praying that it goes through quickly. Jenifer

Well I think it was about two weeks when I heard back from them requesting a letter of weight loss plans that I had tried. So I sent in that, and then it was about two more weeks and I was approved. If you want to see copies of my letters to them, just let me know, and I'll email them to you, and you can kinda revise them to your information, and use them. Good Luck to you!

That would be great. My doc has already sent my info to them so I am praying that I won't need any additional info. His office is very detailed with what they send. How about if I wait and see if I need it so that you don't go through the trouble of emailing it for nothing. I appreciate your help. It is hard to find people who have this insurance. I have only found one other person and hers is an individual policy and she is still working on her supervised weight loss visits. Thanks again, Jenifer
