I'm Home!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I came home Sunday afternoon. My surgery went well with no complications. They did a number on me with the IV though, my hand and part of my arm is still swollen and sore...but its better today than it was yesterday. It wasn't really their fault, my veins just kept disappearing so they had to stick the one that popped up. The nurses at Baptist were wonderful, I couldn't have asked for better care. My only complaint is that my roommate snored worse than my husband, so I had trouble sleeping . So far everything I have eaten or drank has settled well. I feel hungry, but I know it is just head hunger so I just drink water to get rid of it. I don't have much pain, just soreness. I do feel tired and have been resting a lot. My husband, bless his soul, has been wonderful throughout this whole process. He has the whole week off and intends for me to do nothing while he does everything, even feeding and bathing the kids and putting them to bed. I'm so blessed to have him . So that's my update, will let y'all know how I'm feeling in a day or two. Cathy and Susan, thank you so much for your visits and gifts, you are both an inspiration to me and I hope to be able to see you again. That's all for now. Denise

Yipee!!!! So glad you're home, safe and sound! The ONLY good thing I can say about having my surgery at St Vincent's is that I had a private room. Keep up the good work, remember to walk as much as you can and sip, sip and sip some more. Susan

Hey Barbara. Glad you're home and feeling well. I just noticed you are in Monticello. I'm here today and tomorrow working. Actually tomorrow I have to drive to Portland and Crossett to work, but then back through Monticello. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express tonight. My oldest son is here too since we work together. We were just trying to decide where to go for dinner. I had my surgery at Baptist too and the nurses (especially the day shift) were great! I had a private room because I didn't want to be bothered! It was nice not to have to talk or deal with anyone else after surgery. My husband was with me (I live in Springdale) so I didn't really have any visitors. Oh.. there was one lady who had the surgery 2 weeks before me. She came by which was very sweet. I didn't get on OH until after my surgery or I'm sure the girls down here would have stopped by! Hope you continue to feel better each day! Hopefully we'll get to meet soon. Margie
