Arkansas roll call!!!

Hi there Hazel, Welcome to the Arkansas and the AR forum. Wowww...210lbs and a 5K, that's amazing!! I think there might be a support group in your area. I kind of remember Margie saying something about it. Her user name is Hartmac, you can look her up and ask her about it. I know one of the reasons we're trying to get this forum going is that the support groups here (at least in little rock) leave much to be desired. I went to one and actually walked out after about 15 minutes. It was just a rehash of the seminars the surgeons give, and what help was that after the fact? Anyway, everyone here is terrific, lots of support and help. Since you've done so well you might be someone those of us earlier out might turn to for help and suggestions. hello hazel....i too am a transplant here in arkansas...prior to ar i was in the boston area. i haved lived in texas and illinois as well but i am from michigan. congrats on your success. i will be 6 yrs post op on 31 july. i had the surgery in a suburb of boston. i have walked in about 3 diabetes walks since surgery and actually have walked them better than my skinny fit sister. her daughter is type 1 and is only 11 she was diagnosed at age 2-3 yrs. anyhow welcome to the club. we are all proud to be "losers" tammy
