Hi All, Just wanted to check in and see what was new with all our friends here in the Natural State. Everyone ready for a wet, nasty weekend? Got the DVD's and jigsaw puzzles out? Hey you up in the Northern counties...hear you might get some ice storms, so BEEEEEE careful, please! Don't want you "Slip Slidin' Away" (that's for you Simon and Garfunkle fans). I've had a big pot of red beans cooking all day, going to make some white rice for hubby and a bit of brown rice for me. Been saving my carbs all day for dinner! Everyone have a good weekend, and make it a safe one! Susan

Hi Tammy, I had my surgery on 9/14/06, knocking at the 50#door. My hair is being awful too. Problem is twofold. One, I started out with only 20 hairs on my head, and of all things I'm a hairdresser. So here I am, trying to build my business since we moved here, and I'm balding!!! BUT I'm down almost 50 lbs, so who cares about hair? I've been taking biotin and have upped my protein, but it's going to do what it's going to do, right? Hope you get a cute cut and style. Don't work too hard and wear yourself out before the weekend! Susan I am 5 years post op and I go through streaks where it "sheds" more than usual. I try to grow it out but it is just so thin. Congrats on the 50 pound loss. I went from 233 all the way down to 133 but here lately I have been at 153 and go back and forth between 143 and 153. Today I am 150 The 133 was a fluke thing and I did it the unhealthy way by not eating, going through divorce no money blah blah blah. Where I would like to be is back at 143. I am just happy to not be 233. I got back on the treadmill and I am watching what I eat and have lost 3.5 pounds since Jan 1 2007. I hope that doesnt freak anyone out that I gained weight this far out but from what I have read it is fairly common as long as it isnt alot. I guess I got lazy and stopped working out. March 5 I am scheduled to have a lift and implants...the girls relocated south after about 2-3 years after surgery. Haha....I am so excited. These things happen tho. ok....I gotta go. Take Care Tammy

Susan, it is wet and cold and soon to be slick. Hubby has to work, but my son and his girlfriend are coming over this evening to eat chili with me. Jan and Joe are on their way home. I sure wish we could have made it up your way but let me tell you, in that diamond field, after driving 200 miles, and the mud and clay was so heavy on our shoes and we walked and dug and were so filthy, we just wanted to get our butts home. Then when we got home, Jan and I cleaned rocks until late. We had a blast. I think when the weather warms up, Jan, Joe, Kenny, and I are going to rent rooms at the Inn near the diamond field and spend a weekend going to site see and looking for diamonds. You know what would be fun, if we could all get together for a picnic. They have a couple of really nice parks. Maybe that is something we Arkansas folks can plan for early spring. What say you all?

Morning Jeannie, We went to the sympohny last night...Beethoven's 7th, which, of course, was wonderful. Don't get out much in the evenings since Gary opens the store alot, so staying out till 11:00 was something. Slept in until 7:30....very unusual since I'm normally up by 5:00 or so. Now my eating/drinking routine is waaaaaay out of whack, but oh well. I'll be playing catch up all day now. Still, it was well worth it. I'm going to the bridal fair today too, maybe I'll run into Cathi. Our son is getting married in July and we need to get the show on the road. Honestly, I'm a huge San Diego Charger fan and their playoff game is at 3:30, so you know where I"d rather be today. Anyway, it's good that I've been included, so Gary will just have to tape the game and keep his mouth shut about any outcome as to not spoil it for me. So glad you and the gang had a good time at the diamond fields. I completly understand about getting home in that weather, I would have done the same thing myself. A picnic in the spring sounds wonderful! My two nieces will be here for spring break(not sure when it is) so maybe it will work out for them to be able to come. Always hard to find things to do with them, they're such California Girls. I'm trying a new quiche recipe for breakfast, so if it's good I'll post it. Saw it on the main board and it sounded good. Take care, Susan

Hey Susan.... I'm COLD. Dang this weather! It's only been raining here, but it's just above freezing. Suppose to get bad tonight. I made a big pot of homemade chili and it's been soooo good!! I stocked up on fruits and veggies too! When the weather is bad and I can't get out, I want to eat. So I bought a big bag of baby carrots and celery to snack on. I also bought a new "outfit" for my bed. It's lush, rich colors (burgundy, golds, browns, greens, etc). I have a four-poster cherry wood bed and it looks awesome! I haven't had a new comforter, shams and pillows in a long time. So I'm excited by that! I have an electric blanket on my bed, so we bought one for each of the two boys who are still at home. Not too bad price....$25 ea. for the twin size. They were happy about that! Tomorrow should be a movie, reading kind of day! You all stay warm and stay safe. Margie

Hi Margie, The weather really is pretty sucky, isn't it? I have to go to the Bridal Fair today with the daughter-in -law to be, not really what I'd like to be doing, but it's nice to be included in the planning. We're huge football fans, and it's playoff weekend, so sitting with my butt in front of the tv is what I'd really like to be doing! Nothing spruces up a bedroom quicker than changing the bed's "outfit". I had bought this really pretty set for our bed when we put our house up for sale in San Diego. Wanted the room to look good. Found everything on 50% off at Penney's. Brought it to AR, of course, then the new puppy ate the edging around the shams. Even on sale those things cost me about $60, so now I have to put them just so on the bed so the chewed parts don't show. It will be awhile before they get replaced. Hope the weather doesn't get too bad up in your end of the state, and that you stay warm and dry. Enjoy the movie/book day, sounds relaxing. Take care, Susan
