Well, my surgery that was supposed to be at noon wasnt until three, and l guess, l had a lot of fat around my esophogus, so, it took about 2 1/2 hours. I woke up fine, no feeling sick at all. I was only in recovery about 1/2 hr. I drank water when l got up to my room. And did fine with that. I took my pain PILLS, broke them in half, since, l wasnt sure what size the whole really was. Around 3am l woke up, pain, took more pills. Then went to the bathroom, that was when the pain started. I cried for about an hour. I could not move in any direction, and was having a time catching my breath. I finally called the nurse, and what had happened was l lowered the head of the bed too far down, and the gas in my abdomen moved upward and was under my rib cage. She was helping me to sit up and l started weezing terrible..it was scary. I moved a bit and the gas moved and l was able to breath again. She raised the bed up, and l was able to then sleep. This morning they gave me some broth..(yuck), apple juice,, (yum), cream of wheat, (way too thick) and milk..(yum).. I felt much better after that. I take my pills right at 4-5 hours and it is keeping the pain down pretty much. It is very hard to stand up from a laying position. I had a yougart smoothie..about 3 tbs, water, and some cream of wheat about 3 tablespoons. I am just not to hungry yet. l just want this gas to disapate..it is very uncomfortable. Besides some bleeding that scared me a bit too, l am fine..it was dripping down my belly and legs..but was normal..Thanks for the call Ronda, talk soon..back to sleep

I am doing ok..still sore...hard to take a deep breath. l ventured out yesterday, and bought some Ensure. I felt like l needed a few more nutrients. I also bought a soup in hand Italian Wedding soup..now that was good. Really, it says l should have waited a few more days for that type, but, the pieces are so tiny. I took it slow and tolerated it great. I had a SF pudding on top of it. This morning l had a full Ensure, and a SF pudding, I will have some apple juice with my meds soon. I have a feeling of fullness, but, not overly full. Like I ate a good meal. I am still resting and walking around as l can. Geri
