Hey all. Geri is having surgery today. Yeah, one more on the loser's bench. Is anyone close enough to go check on her and let us all know? Jennifer, we are trying to make this an even bigger and better support group, so keep on coming by and reading and posting. Rhonda, I come through southern Arkansas when I go see my surgeon. He is Shreveport. Maybe the next time, if you are close to my route, I can meet you for coffee. Tina, I know what you mean about not fitting in the MRI machine. Just think, soon that will be a thing of the past. That is just one more exclusion made for the obese patient. St. Edwards has an open one for obese patients, but I don't understand why they just don't make them all open. IN fact, my son has to have his surgery in Little Rock because the hospitals in NW Arkansas do not have a CT table that will work on anyone over 350 pounds. I wonder what would happen if they really needed to scan someone and they were too large to be scanned, do they just say, oh well, you are out of luck? Today, I am going to get my hair cut. I am a little nervous but not so much. For the last week or so, I have been losing my hair, big clumps of hair, and my hair is really long so that means that I am clogging drains. It's also more noticible on me since my hair is so long. So, it is getting chopped off and hopefully once the shedding stops, I can grow it all out the same length. Hair loss was something I had hoped would not get me, but my doctor said everyone loses their hair because of us starving. He said that really there is nothing that would stop it and just go with the flow and it will stop between the 7-8th month. I hope you all have a great day and remember Geri in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you. I called the hospital in my area yesterday and asked about support groups and they have nothing in this area for that type of thing was the response. So thanks again for keeping me informed and included. It's just sometimes you need that one on one or group help so you don't feel so alone in this. This site is a big help. Have a good night.

Hello board, Jeannie glad to see you back today, missed you yesterday but I understand those busy days. Yeah that MRI stuff is a mess. He said I could go to an open one that I will be able to fit in. He kept telling me oh I think you will fit but I knew better. My head went in but my shoulders and arms had no where to go. It was quite funny to me not sure why LOL. I am going to call the dr. office monday I hope they don't think I am calling to much but I want a date bad. Well I will see in the am for I have to work and after med pass usually have nothing better to do. Good night ya'll.

Hey guys, I am not close enough to check on Geri, but will be calling her tomorrow. She is in St. Vincents in Little Rock, and when I called this afternoon, she was still not in a room yet, and I have not slowed down long enough since to call, and dont want to call at this late an hour. Im sure she is up this late at home, but needs her rest right now. I will let you all know what I find out tomorrow afternoon. Jeannie, I live in Fordyce, and hubby says you come thru here going to Shreveport. I didnt know for sure, Im geographically challenged. He says he keeps a water hose in the back yard not only to water the horses, but so if I go to the barn alone I can find my way back to the house. He really does love me, but gives me heck, b/c I am soooooooo directionally challenged. But then, doesnt everyone turn where the high school used to be, lol. When I talk to Geri tomorrow, I'll be sure and let you all know how she is doing. Hugs to you all, Rhonda
