New insurance W/BCBS of Arkansas

Hi. I recently got insurance through BCBS of Arkansas. I'm paying a pretty penny for it. I wanted to know if anybody has gone through this company to get approved for WLS and if so how was the process. I've gone through a lot with prior companies and this is my last chance. Any comments are welcomed. I just need a little support !!!!

LaTonya, I don't have that insurance, mine is AETNA and my process through them was a breeze. I hope everything goes well. There are other ways to get funded, like, some times Ark rehab will pay for it, if you meet the requirements. Don't give up. I was fortuante enough to have my surgery on Oct. 25 and it has been the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I will keep my fingers crossed and by all means keep us posted.

I work at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and we are self-insured. However, BCBS is our administrator and they were stubborn, pig headed, and refused to approve my surgery. I had to go to our Human Resources department (and my surgeon called as well) to get approved. Hopefully it was just something that was written in our policy, and you won't have any trouble. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
