doubt
Well, I had a visit to my pcp twenty days after my surgery and the report was so good. I lost thirty pounds in 20 days and I am no longer taking blood pressure meds. I can feel the weightloss in my clothes and by the way I feel in general, but I keep thinking that this is going to stop and I will be one of those people that only loses a few pounds. Am I the only one who thinks like that?
Hi Jeannie,
You and I seem to be poster children for gastric bypass! I feel the same way you do about my weight loss, but I also feel guilty because it is coming off so easily and I don't have those horrible side effects others on the boards do. It's kind of like "survivor's guilt". I've lost 35lbs in 11 weeks( remember, I tore my achilles tendon three weeks post op, still recovering from that), and truly, it's been effortless. I feel so good that sometimes I have to remind myself I've had major surgery and my inners rearranged.
Thirty pounds is terrific, but not as wonderful as being off those medications!!! If you didn't lose another pound, ( and you KNOW you will) wouldn't it be worth it, just knowing your are healthier now than you were before surgery?
Lots of rain here and the temp has dropped to 48. Guess you're getting all the snow. Take care if you go out!!
Hugs,
Susan
Susan, the snow and sleet are just pounding the windows and the temperature is dropping. It rained most of the day and that has now frozen over, with sleet then snow and now sleet and snow. I am thinking of staying home tomorrow. You're right about getting off the medications and feeling so great. I haven't felt this good in twenty years. It's a great surgery and I am happy that I was able to get it done.
