need lots of info -

I have decided to pursue having the lap-band surgery. I have made an appointment with my pcm to discuss this. I am 55 years old, BMI of 40, diabetic, high BP and cholesterol, family history of heart disease. I think i am in dire need of this. My insurance will cover, but my pcm is at UAMS, can anyone give me any suggestions on what to do..... and how to go about this......... Are there bariatric surgeons at UAMS that any of you might have used???? My nephew used Dr. Wellborn 2 years ago, but like I said, my pcm is at UAMS.

Not sure if you've discovered the Lap band forum yet, but it's pretty active and you might get some responses there. Hover your mouse over the Forums link up top and then choose lap band from the drop down that appears. Best of luck! ~Tooter
