Newbie from Fort Smith

Hi all, newbie from Ft Smith. I haven't had my surgery yet, haven't even saw the surgeon until next Tuesday. I hope i get my date this year. Anyway, can anyone tell me approximately how much this is in Arkansas? I don't have insurance and will be paying for mine. Carla

Carla, Get out your pocket book, without insurance it will run between 15,000 to 25,000 depending on the doctor...I have insurance and was turned down (after going through dozens of test) so I'm going to Mexico to have my lap band surgery and will only pay 8k (that's with airfare). I know it sounds scary but I've been researching the doctors and they are all very good and well trained. I too live in Arkansas and can't afford to pay for it here. I will have my fills done in Texarkana for 300.00 or I can go to LR and have them there. Either way it'll get done. Good Luck! Rena brown Prescott, AR

I got my lap-band in Little Rock with Dr. Wellborn for 16,000. That includes fills for 18mos. Another local physician charges 25,000, and another 15,000 with no follow-up (it's extra).

My surgeon told me $21000 for RNY.

I live in Fort Smith and had my surgery at St. Ed's with Dr. Coleman and all together my insurance company was billed $29976.55. (that is with the Surgeon, Anesthesiologist and hospital stay) What Dr. are you going to?
