St Vincent's support group

Did any of you attend tonite's support group meeting at St Vincent (LR)? It would have been my first, but I wasn't quite up to it yet, since I'm only a few days post-op. I'd like to hear about the set-up, discussion, speaker, etc.

I was out of town for this one but I think it was supposed to be Barbara Graves from Barbara Graves Intimate Fashions to discuss how to use undergarments if you don't want plastic surgery, or while you are waiting....I'm not sure about that. i went to last month's because my dr required attendance at one and it was the night before my surgery. They had a guest speaker who was a plastic surgeon and he showed before and after pics of various surgies on people who had lost dramatic amounts of weight. I want to go to these each month. There were about 35-40 people there. You can sign up to get emails from them, but I didn't so I have to do that next time. Maybe we can meet up for the next one? I also have to go to 4 of the wls support group meetings at baptist. This is more of a traditional support group meeting...hi my name is....my surgeon was....I had the Lap0Band surgery....i have lost x pounds, etc. in the july meeting, I was the only bander there. Would be nice to have some others so the by-pass people don't look at me like somethings wrong because i had lost 11 pounds in a month instead of 65

Thanks for the info. I plan on attending the August one, and got an email (since the coordinator is from my doc's office) with info about the next. The guest will be Suzan, Dr. Wellborn's wife and nurse. She'll speak about exercise and do a group demonstration. We're supposed to dress to participate. I'll forward it to you if you'd like.

I have been looking at some of the older posts. I am new, well, a returny back to AR. I live in Beebe, and you gals seem close to me. I am hoping to have my surgery in early Jan. My insurance would fund, but, I would have to wait another 2 years, and who knows if they would then, so, I was able to get a cash advance from my trust fund. Thank you God. I need to go to a support group meeting, and wanted to know if I could hitch a ride? Thanks Geri...hope all is going well
