Wanna meet for coffee?
Hey fellow arkies. I'm interested in meeting you guys or the ones who are up to it, face to face. I live in Fayetteville and for all of you who are in my area, post and maybe we can meet at the park or at a restaraunt and get something going. I'm all for get togethers, we could even meet here at my little place. Let me know.
I just read your profile and wow do we have a lot in common. I was an RN before I had to make a career change due to a car wreck. I graduated from UCA and worked labor and delivery for years and years. Now, I am in graduate school getting my PhD in comparative lit and teaching Latin. I loved nursing and after the wreck, the first few times my renewal for my license came up, I renewed them but then I realized that a paralyzed from the waist down nurse can't really work so I let them expire and that same year, I threw away all my nursing uniforms, lab coats, scrubs, and other nursing things. I cried so hard having to face that reality but then when I began walking, many years later, I knew that I couldn't live my life jobless and on Social secuirty, so I went back to school and got another bachelors, this time in English, and then got my masters and now, working on my phd. When I go to the hospital to visit friends or family members or as a patient, whenever I hear someone say, "Nurse." I turn around ready to respond. You can take the nurse out of the uniform, but you can never take the nurse out of the body.
Hi Jeannie,
I assume that you are attending at the UA-Fayetteville? I work on campus and am working on another degree in Accounting. I already have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music, vocal performance. The neck pain I had for years and weight gain prevented me from pursuing a singing career. It would have been so great to be able to have had this banding done even 15 years ago. But alas!
