I had my surgery yesterday and I am doing pretty well. I am pretty sore, but slept most of the night last night. I am taking pain med (Tylenol w/codeine) and I haven't had much of a problem with gas (YET). They weren't kidding when they said to drink 1 oz. over 5-15 minutes! Drinking too much at once makes me want to puke and the dry heave feeling really hurt!!! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support! This website is a life saver. Hugs to all! Susan

Hi Susan! I'm glad that you are doing OK. I know what you're going through. I was banded on May 17 so I'm still on the mushie food stage. May I ask where you got banded and who banded you? I went to Monterrey, Mexico to get mine done by an excellent surgeon there, Dr. Arturo Rodriguez. Good luck with your recovery. I was banded in Jonesboro by Dr. Jones. Here is my update for today: I realize that I am probably just one of the lucky ones so far. Just thought I would update you all on my day. I had my lap band on Thursday and feel like I did pretty well today. Liquids are going down very easy today and I can drink about 1/2 cup at a time (sipping slowly). I slept late this morning but then walked a mile. I came home and watched a movie with the family and then took a nap. When I woke up, I drove the golf cart to my hubby's aunt's house to take my 5 and 6 year old swimming. I just sat by the pool and watched them. Came home and cut some flowers from my yard for the house and then fixed fish sticks, tater tots and broccoli for hubby and kids. I am feeling better by the minute!!! Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. I will be here cheering you on when you have your surgeries!!! Susan
