I agree. I'm in Fayetteville. Where are you all from and where is the middle?

Where is Newport? I live in Rogers and we have a support group up here that meets the second Sunday of every month at St. Mary's hospital from 2-4. It varies from month to month as to how many we have but for the most part it's the same people. Jan

Jan we are neighbors, it would be easy for us to meet. And we could car pool to meet up with our friend in Newport. This is going to be so fun. I have a minivan that will hold a lot of people. We can fill that baby up and get to rockin'.

Hi Jan, I am in Fayetteville, also. Although, I just got the lap-band put in. Did most of the people in your group have RNY surgery? Would it make a difference? Thanks, Cathy in Fayetteville SAGB placed on May 17, 2006 Dr. Arturo Rodriguez, Monterrey, Mexico

Most of us have had RNY. But it wouldn't make any difference WLS is WLS. I know we have one lady that is looking to have the lapband done. I say come and enjoy yourself. Jan

Where is New Port by? What we could do is meet once a month for a lunch and chat. Maybe we could use that time to get to know each other and that will make this board more personal. I am meeting a friend from the 50s board in July. I can't wait. I know that once you meet in real life, keeping up on the board will make us more like family. In addition, we can, you know, get enough folks involved and maybe each of us will find folks in our areas and can start a weekly or bi-weekly meeting. I'm thinking like a fiend of all the possibilities.

I think it would be great if we all got together. Even if you are just considering surgery we could use support!!!

I am in Lowell, I would love to do lunch or any kind of meeting! I am over 3 years post-op and moved here from Atlanta where I was a member of a very large suport group! I still fly back as often as I can, but that is not too often!

It would be great to get a support group together. Maybe we could start by asking everyone what days and times each person could meet. I could meet on the weekend sometime, or generally any evening during the week. Like after 6:30 pm. Cathy
