Topic: Walk and Reunion!!!!!
It is fast approaching April 14 for the Walk from Obesity and the annual Ala Bariatric Support Reunion.   This year it is a combined affair with the walk and then reunion.  The walk starts with registration at 8AM and the walk at 9AM.  You can go to the website walkfromobesity.com to register for the walk and  with the fee you will get a T shirt.   We have some wonderful cooks around the state, prepare your favorite weight loss friendly covered dish and bring the recipe.  Paper products will be provided.  If you need more info feel free to ask

I almost forgot to post that this year it will be held at Regions Park right off 459 in Hoover.  There is no fee to get into the park.   We have some wonderful raffle items and door prizes.

still on level 2 of the 30day shred.....this is like the 90day shred for me....it takes me a month to feel strong enough to move on to the next level. But next week I think I am just going to start level 3. I bought Jillian Michaels kickboxing video so after I am out of level 3 I will start that.....I get bored easy. But need the intense quick workouts in the AM cuz my life is just to busy to do anything else!
anyway:
B: hot protein shake with new latte Nectr powder - it is yummy
S: PB filled pretzel nuggets (8 total)
L: homemade chicken tortilla soup (w/o the tortillas)
S: String cheese
D: leftover crockpot chicken and mushrooms with cheese...glorious cheese
S: nutty caramel bar with skim milk on it.....like delicious cereal but homemade!!

Topic: Monday! Whatcha Eatin? R U Moving?
I forgot to post Friday!  I did weigh Friday, and I've managed to lose 5 lbs over a 2 week period by cuttiing out the "extras".  It is funny to me how NOW if I gain 5 lbs I feel like I've gained 50!  Clothes get tight, and I just feel "off".

That is my sign that I better start logging everything and stop the mindless eating.  My biggest thing is asking myself the question...."Are you really hungry?"  Many times I'm not...I'm thirsty!  This journey is a constant learning experience...and maintenance continues to be the most challenging part of the journey....although, I am getting better at it!

I ran Saturday.  OMG!  85 degrees, in the sun, and no breeze.  I thought I was going to pass out.....It is like we went straight from winter to summer with no buffer!!  Sunday I mowed our big ass lawn....and I had to bag it....so I got plenty of exercise doing that!

Eats today:
B1-Jimmy Dean Delights breakfast sandwich (Canadian bacon...just ok-wont buy this kind again)
B2-grilled chicken breast
L-baked brussel sprouts, pork chop, few bites of steamed potato (leftovers!)
S-strawberries
S-Oikos yogurt
D-chicken finger salad (with buffalo sauce and light ranch)
Dessert-a spoon of PB??

Exercise:  I'll do P90X abs and arms when I get home

Topic: RE: ZEAL
Yes, you can!  And we are here to help!

I think as time goes on we like to think we are "normal", but in reality, we are always obese, just in remission.  We can never do what "everyone" else does.  We have to work harder, for the same results.

Have you read this?
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/01/magazine/tara-parker-pope- fat-trap.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all

Great article that kind of puts it in perspective.

Remember to make your needs a priority.  Yes, you do have time to plan good, healthy meals, and yes, you do have time to exercise.  DO NOT LET LIFE GET IN THE WAY OF YOUR NEEDS!

You are worth the extra effort.

Hugs-Kim

Topic: RE: Hello All!
Dr Dewitt did my surgery and he is just the sweetest man you have ever met, a big ole teddy bear!  But, Dr Sherer removed my gallbladder and a tumor on my chest, so I have a special place in my heart for him too!  They're both EXCELLENT surgeons and I would highly recommend either.  Dr Dewitt also sees patients at Gardendale 2 days a week.
