Rumors would be better than the nothing that I know now. It seems so out of character! I am just 6 months out from surgery and I was suppose to have an appointment Monday. I found out that some people got a letter, but I have not received anything. If I had not called Friday regarding my lab, I would have driven 2 1/2 hours (one way) just to find an empty office. I couldn't believe the answering machine. I had to call back the second time to be sure that I heard correctly. Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Vickie when was the last time you were in the office? From what I was told if you had been in to see them in the last year you should have gotten a letter. There is some one in the office a couple of days a week checking messages and returning calls and sending out records. She will get back with you but it might be several days. I am sure the rumor mill is running rapant. Are you still at the VA in B'ham?

Please do not send me any more messages wanting to know what is going on and what has happened that the office has closed. I do not work for his office and never have, I only do the support group. I DO NOT know why the office closed. I did get a letter and it told how to get your records sent to some one else. Some one is in the office a couple days a week to send out records. If you left a message she will get back with you, it might take several days but please be patient. The support group has moved back over to the Tyler Center and will continue to be the 3rd Tuesday of ever month at 6PM. If you need more info on the support group I will be happy to answer those questions.

Well the office did send one of my coworkers a letter telling her the office was closing. She had a fill for her lapband coming up. I didn't get notified at all. I called and left a message last week but have not had a return call. It would have been nice because the rumor mill is going full force where I am and I jjust have to say, "i know nothing."

Sorry, I wasn't sure if the other post went or not. I called today and only got the answering machine and yes, I did leave a message. I am concerned because Dr. Freeman seemed like such a caring person and concerned about his clients. I just can't understand them closing so suddenly. I had an appointment Monday and I live 2 1/2 hours away. I would have driven all that way for nothing. I was just wondering why they didn't call and cancel the appointment. I realize things happen in life and I am just concerned. Thanks for you reply.

Dianne I see you asked me this question in another post. All I know is the office is closed, but there is some there a couple days a week. Did you leave a message? If you did she will be calling you back. It may take her a few days to return your call as she is also working another job. I do not know anything and have no idea of why the office closed.

I saw that you are from Anniston. What is the deal with Dr. Freeman? I called the office today to confirm the time for my appointment on Monday and an answering machine said that the office was officially closed. Do you have any information about him closing his office? It seems very sudden without any notification.

I started researching (a little here and there) a few years ago, so I knew about the 6 months and I've already done all of that.
I can't believe it SHE JUST CALLED. She said she had 2 nurses out and has been 'working on the floor"..... and apoligized. I'm getting my info in the mail TODAY!!

Ask for Miles....I'm not sure if he is still there, but he was amazing to work with.........tell him what you are going through...........
I don't know if the process is the same now, but when I did mine, I had to send the complete packet to them-once they reviewed it I was able to talk to them about an appointment. I couldn't even go in for an appt until I completed my insurance required 6 month "supervised diet"....once that was done, the process went quickly-and I got insurance approval in under a week.
