I am sorry you received this diagnosis. I, too, have it. I recently had 80% of my pancreas removed. I am still experiencing low bloos sugars, but not as often as I did before. I literally have lost consciousness and experienced seizures due to my low blood sugar. Test your blood religiously. There is still much that is unknown about the disease...I am waiting patiently to hear if I may have to have the remainder of my pancreas removed only to become a full-fledge diabetic. I wish I could turn back time. Since my open RNY surgery in 2002, I have had over 30 surgeries. For some, the surgery is a life-saver. For some, an everlasting nightmare.

Good luck!

Today I bought a Groupon for 12 bootcamp sessions at a local gym.  I'm looking forward to trying something new!

Topic: RE: Tummy Tuck
I am having a lower body lift November 9th.  I am paying for it myself.  I have BCBS and my policy does cover excess skin removal, but the guidelines are pretty strict to get coverage....the skin has to hang pretty badly and/or you have to have documented proof of health issues related to it.  I do not meet the criteria.

The best thing to do is contact your insurance company for specifics on what they cover.  Also, check out the plastic surgery forum here on OH.

Topic: Tummy Tuck
Has anybody here had a tummy tuck after surgery?  Is there anyway to get BCBSAL to pay for it?  I would assume not, unless you had terrible rashes or other medical problems.
The extra skin from the apron looks painful.  I hope it's not.
