Grits are a simple carb and are basically turned to sugar by your body...that's why the dumping.

For breakfast I love eggs, or cottage cheese with NSA peaches, or Kashi cereal (although I only eat this a couple times a month) or Jimmy Dean D-Lights breakfast sandwiches.

Honey nut Cheerios with a cup of  yogurt of some sort mixed in ...The special K ( Kellogg's)  protein cereal witjh yogurt.  The protein Oatmeal ,low sugar with a bit of toasted pecans and a banana chopped up tossed in after I cook it .
I can do milk or rice ..  I can eat grits but don't.
Wholewheat toast with PB and sliced banana ...  Cheese toast with whole wheat toast made with the 2% cheese block by Cracker Barrel.  I slice it on put in on before putting in toaster oven.  The sliced cheese is way to thin and tasteless to me .

Whole Wheat mc muffin toasted with light cream cheese spread on it ...Boiled eggs ...
These are what I have eated for several years for breakfast..  I eat the Jimmy Dean turkey sausage , low fat and really good as well.

I would highly recommend Dr. David Gray in Huntsville. His brother has had WLS, so he has first hand knowledge. He is very kind and caring.

Good luck!

I eat grits but very rarely.  They have carbs and will fill me up and prohibit me from getting the protein I should be eating.

I eat a lot of eggs for breakfast!, boiled or scrambled with cheese,  or Protein Bars.   I love bacon but I bake mine to attempt to reduce the fat.  A slice of baked ham is also a good choice for me.

John I use the instant packets for just 1 serving.  Some days I can eat about half of the serving and do okay and then next time I dump.  I have never had a bad dumping with them just the one that makes you feel a little bad.  It is probaly all the carbs.  I wish I had some good ideas for breakfast but I don't.  I am in the same boat as you.  Maybe some one will give us some ideas.
