Thank you, Louise! I was in Anniston just a couple of weeks ago, and was thinking about you as well, and wondering how you were. working on the extra pounds, it's not easy, as the source of my stress is still going strong, but i'll get there.

You are doing great, most often the weight loss is faster at first then slows as your body ajusts.Keep a journal and take measurements of yourself. Here in PA we see our surgeon at 2 weeks and then at 6 weeks and at 3 months . Also get regular blood work done .Yes you can drink for your birthday , a small amount will not set you back. You will find out that alcohol hits you sooner than it did before the surgery. Again congrats you are really doing well.Remember you may still be bigger than most, you are now much smaller than before and you will get smaller. Try getting new clothes or put on some of your big girl clothes and see the difference.

Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss!! It took me 6 months to lose 100 lbs.
Maybe you can find a support group. I think it would really help you in the early stages of your journey. And..."Happy Birthday" just a little early!

Well, I saw my surgeon 1 time, two weeks after my surgery. Not since. Guess I did well. My regular MD I see in three weeks, No one has told me yes or no about anything. I have been a bit disapointed about my "after care". But I figured if it hurts, stop and if it is ok, well it is good. I watch the amounts of food at one time closely as to not over do it and stretch my pouch. But I've had no problems to go in over. So I really didn't know.

Thanks for the advice. I really didn't know :)

Donya I was just thinking of you the other day and was wondering how you were doing.  You can get those little extra pounds back off.  We all have done it and it just takes going back to the basics.   I am glad that you dropped in and it is good to see you.

it was, indeed, dr. clements who left UAB. he was my mom's dr., and she now sees the dr. who took his place. i don't recall the new dr.'s name, but he trained with dr. clements, and my mom likes him a lot.

You are doing wonderful.   You have lost almost 40# each month.   Each and ever one of us lose different and at different rate.  Do not compare yourself to some one else.  Just think if you lose another 100# in the next 3 months you will be below 200#.

I am guessing that your doctor probaly told you no alchol, I would follow his advice and not do it.  I know that some do post that they consume alcholic beverages but from what I have heard from my doctor and hearing other doctors speak most advise againist it.    Just ask yourself which is more important losing the weight or a drink.  Alcholic beverages is empty calories.

I am getting almost forlorn at the thought of still being so big. Anyway, Is my weight loss/ Vs time frame ok?

Also, I have a birthday comming up and I would like to have a drink. Can we even drink anything with liquir in it?

Thanks :)
