There are two WLS meetings in Huntsville at the Hsv Hospital Wellness Center on Govenors Drive. The gastric banding folks meet the first Thursday of the month at 5 PM. The by-pass/sleeve meet at 6 PM the first Thursday of the month. There is a group that meets middle of the month at 10 AM I believe.

I left this one off yeasterday but there is 5 rules for a successful weight loss.
The 5th rule is Take all your supplements. Here is the list that I have always heard from my surgeon and from all the OH conferences that I have attended.
Take a multi vitamin ever day. If you do the childrens gummy take 2.
Calcium Citrate not carbonate. Our body does not metabolise carbonate. We need from 1200 to 1500mg ever day in divided doses. Make sure your calcium has Vit D added.
B12 is so very important. You can do this ever day sublingual or do a monthly injection. Also now out is a nasal spray that is done once weekly.
What ever you do PLEASE make sure that you get these supplements in each and ever day. And also please see your doctor and get those labs done.

OMG! I got my P90X+ DVDs yesterday and I was only able to do 1/2 of one......this is so much harder than regular P90X!
I'm going to log my food a little different so you can actually see the meals the way I eat them....
Food today:
B1 5:00 a.m.-1/2 cup cottage chesse with NSA peaches, 1 slice ww toast
B2 8:00 a.m.-2 oz salmon and 1/8 cup broccoli
L 11:00 a.m.-Healthy Choice chicken pesto classico
S 1:00 p.m.-nectarine
S 2:00 p.m.-Chobani lemon yogurt
S 5:00 p.m.-a few cheese and crackers before I workout
D 7:00 p.m.-baked chicken and veggies
Dessert-coffee
I'll do something cardio tonight....maybe I'll try the P90X+ cardio workout....I'm scared!!

Does anyone know when & where the Support Group Meetings
are in Huntsville, Al ? I have never been to a meeting, but I am thinking of going to one. I live in Florence, Al, It will be a little bit of a drive but I wanted to find out how helpful the meetings are. Plus, it would be nice to meet people in person that have had or thinking about having WLS & that I talk to on here. I would really appreciate any information on the meetings... Thanks !!!

B: Scrambled egg with Sharp Cheddar Cheese, slice of toast, 4 strawberries
S: Coffee
L: High Protein Tortilla with chicken and cheese
S: 4 tootsie rolls, 6 crackers with pnut butter
D: 3 oz. baked chicken, 1/2 c. homemade mushroom and spinach stuffing
S: Diet Cranberry Juice, cheese stick
Exercise: 5 mile walk!

First, call your insurance company and ask them for the link to the detailed list of requirements for WLS approval. Then, make a checklist and follow it to the letter. I had to do a 6 mo supervised diet in addition to providing a 3 year obesity history. Once everything was done and submitted, I got approval within a week.

Hello. My name is Emma Gayden and I am new member. Congrats to you on your surgery date. What I would like to know is how long did it take you to get precertified to have surgery from your insurance compan? I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
