Hi, Kelly,
I just had gastric perforations (3) repaired. I take the OmIaziparole (generic) and have for years. My bypass surgery was 3.5 uhad absolutely no symptoms until one morning, I was drinking some coffee and started to feel some weird pains in my stomach. I took some Mylanta and it got worse. The pain escalated quickly to the point where I was screaming on my bed. I have a child and the pain was worse than labor. The pain went up into my collarbone. I've never felt pain like it. I felt like I was going to pass out and I was sweating like crazy.
Ambulance took me straight in and I went in to surgery. They said I had 3 ulcers. I have metal staples from my chest all the way down. I was in the hospital for 8 days. Fortunately, I had a wonderful nursing staff. Came home yesterday and had quite a bit of pain even after taking pain med. Today, I'm feeling better but don't know when I'll return to work. Supposed to see my primary care asap.
This seems to be somewhat common based on what I've read. Pray you have some symptoms so you can gdet to a dr. fast.
Hello,
I'm from Mobile & Dr. Richards did my surgery. I scheduled appt for consult. Got approved same week. Surgery was scheduled about a month later. I did 2 weeks of pre-op liqs before surgery. I was 5'5, 254pds at the time... 11 weeks out 5'5 201 pds.
Hope this helps.
Hey there!!! Just wanted to say hey and it is great to see ya. I haven't been on here in a while either. And like you, I am looking for protein shakes. I am specifically looking for one that Michelle Luv (Bynun) use to make with an espresso or cappucino mix that was so good. I wanted to order the mix, but I have forgotten the name of it. I hope you are doing well. I will see if I can find some of Gina's shake recipes and get them to you. I use to have a bunch of them.
They should have a coordinator there that can give you the information ahead of time. My surgeon had a website that provided all the information.
Each office is different. Ask the surgeon's office for a checklist of the steps required before you can be scheduled.
I work for the University of South Alabama in the Health Services Foundation and work pretty closely with Dr. Richards. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me at 251-470-1671. I had the surgery on 1/23/12 and have been in maintenance the past 6 months. Best thing I ever did!!!
