Hey All I am coming to Alabama and would love to find out what are some great sites/places to go to and places to eat? I haven't been since I was a child and coming basically on my own. I will be in the Mobile area please any help would be great thanks!!!
Topic: New Beginnings Support Group
Okay I got it right this time. New Beginnings Support Group will meet tomorrow night at 6PM at Dr. Freemans office in the RMC Physicians Building in Anniston. We will be having a speaker. Open to ever one, post-op, pre-op, RNY, Lapband, or if you used another physician. If you need further info ask me or call the office. Looking forward to see you all.
Topic: Monday! Whatcha Eatin? R U Exercising?
OMG it was hot this weekend. DH and I ran 4 miles but we didn't get out until 8:30 so it was already hot. Then at 11:00 we did the yard....I mowed and he did everything else. We wrapped up by laying out for an hour to get some sunshine. Then we rested in the house and ended the day with a BBQ at a friend's house. Yesterday I did some good ole Southern cooking.....homemade fried chicken and fried green tomatoes, cream potatoes and peas...and apple pie and cookies. It was all so yummy, but definitely not the healthiest! I kind of felt like a garbage can after consuming that meal, so today it is back to eating healthy! I sent all the leftovers home with guests so we wont be tempted!! (except the pie and a few cookies for DH....apple pie is one of his faves)
Eats today:
B1-Jimmy Dean D-Lights bagel breakfast sandwich
B2-6 oz grilled chicken breast
L-navy beans, cantaloupe
S-Chobani pineapple yogurt
D-baked chicken and veggies
Dessert-NSA ice cream bar
I still get a little freaked out when I eat stuff that isn't the healthiest, but I'm also trying to live in the real world and allow myself to eat what I want within reason. I still have those demons in my head telling me things are "bad".....I guess I'll fight that forever. I want to remain vigilant, but I also will not get into deprivation mode....that worked so WELL for me pre-surgery, now didn't it??
Tonight is P90X upper body and abs. I didn't work out yesterday.....I was just drained from all the outside time Saturday.

Welcome HOME to Alabama. So glad you are back, safe and sound. Don't you worry about what OTHERS say about your cats. That's ridiculous. You don't need to explain anything to anyone. Oh Aunt Mary, it's so good to hear from you, I am glad to know you are doing well. That lost make me think of Miss Debbie (Lady Bug) and Mr. Jimmy. They sing that song so well. Love it. I just wish I had another copy. I wore the other one slap out. Literally...I DID. LOL Anyway, just want to you you are still at STAR in my book and I love ya.

Topic: Friday!! Whatcha Eatin? R U Moving? Did U Weigh?
Happy Friday! My exercise plans got squashed yesterday due to a thunderstorm. So I was lazy. I'm pretty sore from the weight workout Wednesday, so I wasn't too disappointed. I weighed today--same ole, same ole.........which is good!!
Eats today:
B1-Jimmy Dean D-Lights bagel sandwich
B2-5 oz grilled chicken breast
L-Smart Ones Chicken Fetuccini
S-Chobani lemon
S-nectarine
D-grilled burger patty with lett and tomato, salsa and chips (made a fresh batch of salsa last night with jalapenos that I grew!!)
Dessert-probably nothing since I'll have a martini tonight
NO exercise for me today--Friday is my off day. Tomorrow morning I'll run my miles and Sunday I'll do weights again.

Topic: Thursday! Whatcha Eatin? R U Moving?
Yesterday I had to run errands after work--CVS, Walgreens, Publix.....then had to put it all away when I got home...and get something to eat. DH had a business dinner to attend, so I ate some leftover beans I'd cooked over the weekend.....then I cleaned all the fruits and veggies, cut up and put away all the fruit....then plopped my butt in the recliner and started watching TV.....big mistake, because I'd yet to go down and work out.
For a while I considered skipping it, but I'd already missed my workout Tuesday due to travel. So at 8:30 I made myself go do it....and once I started, I was okay with it. It made me realize how easy it would be to get out of the habit.
Today's eats:

You visited my home state! I love summers in VA but the winters are HORRIBLE! Glad you made it. I absolutely hate flight delays and cancellations.

L: 3 oz. grilled chicken, 1/4 c. refried beans, chips with salsa
S: 6 pnut butter crackers and an iced venti skinny cinnamon dolce latte
D: 3 oz. grilled chicken, 1/2 c. green beans
S: banana
S: slice of deli chicken and slice of sharp cheddar cheese
EXERCISE: Doing 2 miles at work. Too hot to do much more!
