How do you function?
Honestly, I never felt all that fatigued. I guess we "live off the land" so to speak...we've got plenty of stored fat to keep the body functioning. I just felt so much better as the weight came off, I didn't realize how little I was living off of.
The most important thing to do in those early weeks is to let the body heal and get your water and protein in. After that, as your meal plan progresses, the key is making every calorie count--consume good wholesome foods and leave the junk alone.
Over time, we all find that we can eat a certain amount of "not so good" stuff, and in moderation that is fine. In the that first year though, it is best to take advantage of the maximum losing phase and retrain your body on what is good food.
Best to you!

I would definitely have someone available for the 1st week after surgery. I personally was very sore and needed a full week to heal and even feel like doing minimal walks.
After you get past the 1st couple of weeks, I think you are going to see a sudden INCREASE in your energy. I know I did. Maybe it was also the excitement of seeing the # on the scale dropping fast those first few months....but whatever it was, I felt GREAT!
