let's see....today is:
Breakfast - 1 small apple with 2 1/3 tbsp of peanut butter (naturally more-has flaxseed, flaxseed oil and egg whites added)
Snack - 2-3 handfuls of plain popcorn. yep, plain, NOTHING on it.
20+ ounces of water (as hot tea)
Lunch - turkey sandwich on whole wheat with a few bites of leftover chili (i can't stand to waste leftovers, and chili is good protein, lol), 1/2 small apple
Snack - ounce of pork rinds, small banana with tbsp of PB (the pb completes the protein chain with the pork rinds)
Supper - 1 1/3 squares of mega meat pizza, small salad with bacon bits (more protein ;) ) and FF italian, 1/2 small apple
Snack - atkins bar (for some reason, i cannot go to bed on an empty stomach-i wake up at 2-3 am STARVING if i do)
by the end of the day, i should be over 60 oz of water.
i've been on a 30 minute walk, which is a really big deal for me, because my knees are "eat up" (as my grandmother would say, lol) with arthritis. was LOVIN' that sunshine and cool breeze!

Where do you get that PB?
I too suffer with arthritis in my knees--but I'll tell you this: I kept going and pushing past the pain first with walking, then speed walking and then jogging and hiking. Now I rarely have sustained pain. When they do ache, I soak in a hot bath for about 30 minutes and that usually does the trick. I always have pain in my knees when going down stairs and down an incline. Dr said that will always be.
Ask your doctor before you do that though--just wanted you to know there may be hope! My orthopedic doctor told me if I do it my arthritis wont be "hurt" by the activity nor will my knees get more damaged (I guess they are already "eat up"!)
I'm glad to see your menu-I often feel like the minority because I eat a good bit all day everyday! I'm also very proud of you for getting that walk in!

thank you, kim! walking is really hard for me, i usually just ride my recumbent bike, as it's much easier on the knees, but it was SO nice outside this morning, i just couldn't sit indoors!
i get the naturally more peanut butter at wal-mart. it's made in birmingham, i believe, and is a cousin to power butter. it really is delicious, but tastes slightly less salty than regular peanut butter.
i know what you mean about the food-i feel i eat too much, and, at almost 7 years postop, i'm sure most would be surprised by the amount of food i eat, but i'm still, for the most part, very strict with myself. i do allow the pizza, because it's piled high with meat; and spaghetti, because there's meat in the sauce and i limit the pasta to 1/2 cup. my DH is a junk food junkie, but never gains a pound, so that doesn't help, lol.
i am going back to my orthopedic dr. soon, and see if further physical therapy would help me-i LOVED going to physical therapy, and learned some great exercises that still help me. that's where i discovered the recumbent bike-i LOVE that thing.
Donya :)

I'm going to try that PB! I'm so proud of you for finding a way to get your exercise in! You are an inspiration--I love to see how successful people can be years later after WLS.
I eat pizza too--very rarely because it isn't one of my faves...but I do have spaghetti and meat sauce usually once a week--and I too eat 1/2 cup of noodles and the rest meat sauce.
You are obviously doing something right because you are a success! I think many people think they can live forever on 900 calories per day, and for most that isn't feasible or healthy.
Have a great day!
