Searching for surgeon.

Hello,

I am searching for a surgeon in Birmingham AL. My GP has recommended a few. They are Dr. Jay Long, Dr. Pennington from Advanced Surgeons, and Dr. Freeman from Anniston. 

Has anyone used these surgeons? I would like some feedback from people about these doctors.

Welcome!  I know several of the folks on this board have used Dr. Freeman.  I used Dr. Rex Sherer and I absolutely recommend him!

Mike if you choose Dr. Freeman you will not be sorry.  He is fantastic and his aftercare is wonderful.  I have heard of the other 2 but know nothing about them.  Dr Freeman did my surgery 7 1/2 years ago and has also did 2 other surgeries that was not related to the weight loss and I did wonderful.  His assistant is just awesome also.  I always say with them you 2 for the price of one.  

 Hi Mike, I drove all the way from Ft Rucker (near Dothan) to have Dr Freeman as my surgeon.  I will tell you it was well worth it.  

I have to agree with Louise - and I did pay the PA fee out of pocket, as my BCBC policy didn't cover it.  However, I would pay it again in a minute, and double if necessary.  Dr. Freeman and his staff are the best out there, as far as I'm concerned.  He was my mother's surgeon years ago, and also my brother's surgeon.  My brother was hospitalized last October for some rather serious surgery, and I don't think I can relay to you what it mean to have that "TEAM" behind him.  They were always available to me - either by phone or text.   I've yet to meet another doctor who is that accessible.    The office staff is top notch too...always available to answer your questions, no matter how trivial they might seem to be.
