Anxiety Meds???

Does anyone here take anxiety meds or have at any point? I am really clueless about prescription drugs. Is there any kind we should avoid? Any that work well for you?  Should I see my general practitioner about getting some? Or some other kind of Dr.?  I really need to do something right away.

I do.  Talk to your general doctor and tell him whats going on with you and he will give you something and if he doesnt want to then he might suggest what dr you need to see.  Lexapro works good for me.

Ok. Thank you Stacy.  I think I have heard of that medication.

I was just put on Lexapro last week. Some people love it. I as of right now cant say either way. I've only took it for 8 days now. Good luck!

Thanks Hilary.  Did the Dr. tell you how long it would take to start helping?

He said i should tell a difference in 2 weeks but to give it a month and if no better to come back.

I don't but have several friends that do--and I'm so proud of you for reaching out for help when you need it.  These meds exist for a reason--and if I ever need help, I'll sure get it.

I just had surgery last monday... i was just wondering do you have to forever crush up your pills?

Thanks Kim. Sometimes things just get a little too much to deal with. Hopefully I can get something worked out.
