Hello Alabama!

I am new to this site. I learned today that we are moving to Montgomery Alabama!  Just wondering if anyone is from that area and what the town is like. My husband and I are very excited about the move. I hope to make some WLS surgery friends in that area, if there are any.

We would appreciate any input about that area if anyone can fill us in.

 Hi Donna, I'm not in M'gomery.  I'm at Ft Rucker towards Dothan.  We do have few folks from or near Montgomery on this board.  I keep saying that I am going to go there to shop.  Maybe I will make it there once you move there.  

Hi there.  Have you ever been to Montgomery?  Are there lots of shopping opportunities? My husband has already found a Bass Pro Shops there. We will be making a trip done there next month. Can's wait to see what its like!

My family is in Montgomery /Prattville area ...I live 2 hours north but I go there at least once a month...Lots of shopping..I love the Prattville area outside Montgomery where the Bass shop is ....My family lives in or around there and I plan on moving there in a couple years when I retire from this job..

Welcome to the Bama Board.   Here is one of your newest friends from Montgomery.  If you have children in school the Montgomery schools are terrible.  The best schools around here are in Prattville.  I dont shop in Montgomery unless i go to East Chase in East Montgomery.  We shop in Prattville and Millbrook.   Thats where you want to eat and shop unless you want to go on up to Alabaster which is growing and has the best thrift store ever.

Thank you all so much.  Sounds like we need to look into moving into the Pratville area!  We will know this weekend what days we will be coming next month. I am really looking forward to the trip.

Hi!  I'm in Millbrook, next door to Prattville and just North of Montgomery.  Our schools and pretty terrific too :>)  I'm 4 months out from my surgery so relatively new to the boards.  We've lived here for 11 years and love this area so if you have any questions I'll be glad to answer as I'm sure the others will too.  Welcome to the Alabama board!!
