Personally, I am not a fan--especially of the instant varieties because they are basically simple carbs (that is how your body uses it) and not much protein.  If you must eat it, use steel cut organic oats http://www.purcellmountainfarms.com/Organic%20Oats%20(steel% 20cut).htm.

Your body will utilize this better.

And yes, you can and will be victorious in 2011!!  We are here for you!

Hi Hilary,

My nutritionist recommended steel cut oatmeal.  I also love oatmeal.

Personally I love oatmeal.  Today, I ventured out and bought silome whole grain cream of wheat sweetened with splenda.  I can't wait to try it cause I always loved cream of wheat.  I am trying to stay away from white flour products.  I do whole grain or whole wheat  pasta, brown rice, wheat bread....whatever I can that is more healthy.  I find that it doesn't affect my blood sugar the way the white starchy products do.  It's amazing the difference it makes in keeping my blood sugars under control.  The cream of wheat I got today was whole grain and 9 gr of protein and good fiber too.  It was sweetened with splenda and I can't wait to try it in the morning.  I did SO GOOD staying away from the sweets during the holidays.  I totally amazed myself.  LOL  Best of luck.

Love oatmeal and eat the whole oats.  I usually add a tablespoon or two of peanut butter to it!  Watch the portion size.....a serving size is smaller than most of us imagine!

I can't do instant oatmeal (it's a texture thing) but I LOVE overnight oats made with steel cut oats.

I love oatmeal and have it most every morning.  I also love to put 1/2 a banana in it for sweetness.  I also will eat a bit of peanut butter later for some protein.  If I eat too much oatmeal, though, I will get sick.  I guess it is the carbs. I do love the instant low sugar best...but I have to be careful with it.
