Does anyone suffer from panic attacks?

If so, what do you do and how do you handle and cope with them?  I just had about a 15 minute episode, where I couldn't catch my breath, was burning up hot and ran outside in the freezing cold, but it was not COLD to me and I spent 15 minutes outside in my nylon gown trying to catch my breath.  Ugh....these are not fun at all.  It's been a little while since I've had one this bad, but it was not fun at all.  I am just ready for Christmas to be over and done with.  Thanking the good Lord for giving us the opportunity to get away for Christmas for a couple of days, just the two of us. PTL!  I can't wait to get outta here.

I do when I have to have a medical procedure.  I am so bad that I am ready to get off the table and walk out from  the holding area.   I only have them with medical prodedure's nothing else.  It is not fun.    And the sad part is that the medical personel does not take it seriously.

I have them when I get extremely stressed.  I have to literally stick my head in the freezer to get air.  Odd as it sounds I found that drinking ice water or a frozen slushie helps.

Gwen, last night I was literally standing outside in the freezing cold in my old timey vanity fair nylon gown. I love those gowns and have one in about every color they have.  I could use an entire new set. LOL  They are the best and last FOREVER .  Well, until you wear the stuffins' out of 'em.  I just couldn't catch my breath.  I felt like I was suffocating. Once I could catch my breath, I knew I was going to be alright, but I still stood outside till I was sure I was breathing okay and cooled off.  I sat in the doorway another 10 mins. or so, just to be sure.  It was a scarey episode for sure.

There is a Vanity Fair Outlet below Dothan in Graceville, Fl.  I haven't been there in years but I used to go often and bought all my undies there.  I see there is on over in Leeds in your area.

After Christmas, Penney's will put them on sale for practically nothing.  I think my girls got them for less that $7 a piece.  I know one got one sz wrong when I went to exchange it, it was marked down even lower.  These gowns are nearly indestructable.  I love them. My Mama wore them and when she passed on, and I lost my weight, I got to wear hers for years.  My daughter bought me some perfume for Christmas cause it smells like my Mama.  She always wore Estee Lauder "Beautiful".  It's funny, somewhat, what kids remember. I love the smell myself, and I even have people walk up to me and ask if I am my Mama's daugther.  That's just weird, but nice all the same.  She was a very likable person, except when it came to my eating and me being FAT.  Oh well, I will wear my gowns and perfume and let my kids be happy. :)

Gwen, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season.

Be blessed always,

Elle,

I have had one.  It was awful, and I would not wi**** on ANYBODY.  I was in a Nascar simulator like a stupid fool.  Well, I will NEVER make that mistake again.

This might make you laugh and feel better:  I remember the "announcer" saying Car 27 is going to bank hard and Car 27 this and Car 27 that and at the end Car 27 won.  When I finally got outside, I could barely walk.  My husband was having to help hold me up.  I knew Car 27 had won so I looked up at my husband and said, "Was I Car 27?"  He said, "You dumbass!  We were ALL Car 27!!"  LOL.     P.S. - He is not my husband anymore.  :O)

I am sorry you are going through this.  A friend of mine used to have them, and they were BAD.  It was just pitiful to see her go through that.

I am praying for you!

Kim

Pam, it's so good to see you.  How are you?  Girl, I feel your pain.  I have had panic attacks off and on for years.  It is NO FUN at all.  The blood sugar issues aren't fun either.  After either of them, you entire body feels DRAINED.    I usually have to go to bed and just sleep for awhile, that is after taking my medication for either.

I hope you are doing well, otherwise.  Please let me hear from you more often.  I would love to catch up with you.

Elle
