1 1/2 week post op
OK, well truthfully, I haven't weighed since surgery till today and I have only lost 12 pounds. Not to bad for 10 days I guess.
I have two issues, one. I feel like there is a lead ball in my tummy and it hurts, constantly. Not like enough to take pain meds, but enough to feel like I carring a baby or something.
Also, My BS's are high. I guess I am not sure how this affect's blood sugars, but since I am barly eating and I do a sliding scale, I don't get it. I thought type 2, went almost away with this surgery.
Confused and a little unhappy...

Those 12 pounds is fantastic. That is over 1 pound a day. You are doing wonderful. As for the BS's that is probaly why he has you on a sliding scale. It might take several weeks for the blood sugars to level out and to come off the sliding scale. By the way what are you drinking?
You have just had major surgery on your stomach it is going to feel funny and achy but it gets better ever day. If you think that something is wrong call and talk with your doctor or the nurse. Keep up the good work.
