So True

This is from my Al-Anon book and it is so true.  I have used this book for over 20 years and it is just as good today as yesterday.  More so for me today as it can pretain to more than what it was intended for.
Step 1
We admitted we were powerless over ? - that our lives had become unmanageable.
Some of us may use food, shopping or what ever you would like to insert.
The next 11 steps just get better and better.  I am going to post one each day for the next 11 days.

Louise,

Thank you for posting this.  My daddy was an alcoholic.  He died at a very young age (54).  I am no better than him.  He chose alcohol, and I choose food.

You touched my heart this morning.

I am the adult child of alcoholic parents.  The Twelve Steps have gotten me through many "crisis" both with my parents and with my own addiction.

My name is Gwen and I am a FOOD ADDICT.  I am approaching 10 years of "healthy eating".  I was and always will be a food addict.  I live my life one minute, hour and day at the time.  If I fall off the food wagon I dust off my backend and start all over.

Thank You Louise for reminding me where I started, the road I traveled and where I am
today.
