Hello Bama folks

Just to drop a note to all my Alabama weight loss  pals. I live in Helena and had a wonderful wife and 2 fantastic kids. I had been overweight all my life and have yo-yo dieted for years. I lost 100 pounds at one point, but it all crept back on. Now I have diabetes and just diagnosed with high blood pressure. So, enough is enough. Dr. Sthal did my gastric bypass at UAB on Nov 10 2010. So far, so good. I am trying to figure out this whole post surgery diet. I have not been hungery since the surgery, which is great! This forum has been a great tool as I have posted a few questions and received great advice.

Best of luck to all and I hope we can share our weight loss journey together!!

Kind Regards,

Felix Hester

Hey Felix!  Welcome to the loser's bench!  You and I are neighbors...I'm in Helena too!  My hubby and I run over at the path by the junior high school--we are lucky to have several nice outdoor places to exercise.

We have some awesome folks here on the Alabama board!  Let us know how we can help you and check in often!

 Welcome

I am one of the few "old timers" around.  I am nearly 10 years post-op VBG.  I rarely post but I am always very close by

Welcome Felix! Congratulations on your surgery and new life.
I only wish I had not waited as long as I did.
I thank God for all the healthy benefits surgery has brought me. And being able to wear a size 10 is a big plus too after being a size 24 possibly 26 before surgery. I quit buying clothes after size 24. I was just too embarrassed.
