Thursday-Whatcha Eatin? Exercising?
OMG! The mountains were perfect--the leaves are bursting with color and the weather was as perfect as anyone could hope for. We did 3 hikes while there: The first one was just a leisurely stroll for a couple miles in Cades Cove, the second was about 3 miles of mostly rock climbing on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The last one was brutal, but well worth it. 14 miles: 7 miles up the mountain, then 7 back down on a sometimes very steep and loose rocky path. The views at the top almost made me cry they were so beautiful! My butt and calves are soooo sore from that hike! And the knee....held up pretty good and is feeling alright! Yeay!
