Thursday-Whatcha Eatin? Exercising?

Well, it is official.  I am registered for my first 5k!  On September 25th, I'm going to ATTEMPT the 4 Paws Fur a Pink Cause race in my home town.  I know I'll have to walk part of it--my right knee just can't take the continuous running. 

Now, I need to get my butt out and train some more!  I was going to go last night, but it was pretty cloudy and I was afraid I'd get 1/2 way done and the bottom would fall out.  I'll definitely get out this weekend!

Food for today:

B-Kashi cereal and fat free milk
S-Kashi bar (I should take out stock in Kashi and Chobani!)
L-left over steak and baked sweet potato
S-orange, Chobani strawberry banana yogurt
D-not sure--meeting a friend for happy hour

Dessert--I wont NEED one because of aforementioned happy hour, but who knows...if I want something I'll have some watermelon

I know I wont exercise tonight due to aforementioned happy hour!  (next week I'll get all 5 workouts in.....I'm STILL sore from the hike on Monday!!)

Been up and down since 4 am with a very upset stomach.....one of those times I wished I could vomit.......and I brought it all on myself with those Capt. Morgan drinks last nite.   Had not had alcohol for a few weeks and I don't know why I even did it. 

Finally feeling better and relaxing today.   I go back to work this evening.

B:  6 oz. Light Fruit Punch, 1 slice toast, 2 slices turkey, and one slice cheese
S:  Having some coffee  :)
L:   Turkey and Cheese on a high protein tomato basil wrap, pickle spear, unsweet tea
S:   Peanut butter and crackers
D:   Salad with tuna, black olives, mushrooms, and bell peppers.....lite french dressing
S:   Apple

congrats on the 5k! I want to run one so bad! I want to the the C25K thing so i should probably just do it. LOL Let me know how you do!!

B-D-Lights Turkey Sausage Bowl (i see you eat these so i bought some at publix last night! SCORE!)
S-protein shake
L-salad w/ romaine cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, tomato and bbq'd turkey
S-chobani pineapple yogurt and 2 cheese and pb crackers
D-same as lunch except w/ tuna

I may have a NSA Fudgesicle tonight sometime.

Yesterday I had too many calories because of a lunch meeting, so hopefully I can make up for it today by some lighter choices! But, I did get in over 100 grams of protein in yesterday - I guess that is a bright side?

B - Special K Protein Cereal & Skim Milk
S - none
L - Leftover Quiche & Chicken Salad
S - ? Grapes if I need it.
D - I have no idea! Maybe I will try a salad...I haven't had salad in a long time. Some folks have a hard time with it after the band, so it'll be an experiment.

I need to check into the Kashi brand stuff... I never really looked into it before!

Congratulations on the 5K!!!

I never got to the P90X yesterday. Went shopping instead. The irony of the shopping trip was I bought 2 new workout outfits. Belk was having a sale. Got them both for less than $20.00.

I made up for the no working out yesterday. I walked 1.6 miles then I did the CardioX of the P90X. I feel good right now. My muscles were still sore from Tuesday. LOL.

Eats for the day...
B - carbmaster yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, kashi go lean cereal
S - none
L - salad with some chicken salad on it
S - None
D - don't know have a meeting later tonight so it will be whatever they serve

Congrats on the 5K registration!!!   You go get your run on.....I'll stick to my steed for the time being, lol!Haven't put my food in my food chart yet, so I'm not sure how well my choices were today, but here I go!

B-apple
L-Pot Roast with Potatoes and Carrots
D-spaghetti meat sauce and 1/8 cup of noodles 
S-Mocha Frappe from McDonalds.....OH NO....WHY DID I DO THIS!!!  a moment of weakness!!!  BUT I DID SAY NO TO THE FRIES....YAY ME!!

You can tell me....I know I had a bad day!!!!!!  And, I haven't drank hardly anything today!!!  Guess, I will be drinking water all night!!!!  Let me know....did I go overboard with the carbs???  I think I might have to fib about today's snack on my diet chart, !  Please let me know, is 135g of Carbs OK??????

Since you are still pre-op, you probably don't have to worry about the carbs all that much. You might want to try to start your day off with something with more protein, such as cottage cheese or an egg. The most important thing to be doing now is to practice not drinking while eating, taking small bites  and then chewiing the daylights out of those bites, putting your fork or spoon down between bites, etc. Try to increase your water intake so you are accustomed to drinking lots of water before surgery.  The mocha frappe was not the best choice, but is ok for now. After surgery those are a no no because McD's does not have sugar free or light. A better choice might have been making a protein drink at home with ice added to make the frappe. After surgery I went to Starbucks quite often for sugar free fat free decaf lattes. All the sugar and carbs come from the skim milk.

I know, I know!  I should have ordered the Iced fat free Sugar Free Vanilla Latte!  I wanted the icee effect today so I opted for the Frappe. :(  

I have been really trying to stick to a good diet, as I have to show my food log to my Psych doctor to get is approval for surgery before I get my date!  That's why I am so very determined to eat the correct things.  And I tried to eat Plain Greek Yogurt for breakfast.....and I just couldn't stomach it, lol!  So, all I had was an apple or oatmeal......the apple was more appealing!  Well, no.....my kids cereal was more appealing but I knew that was a NO NO, LOL!

I have been doing really good not drinking with meals!  And I have upped my exercise to 30 min/day now from 15 min/day on the treadmill!  Small steps up that BIG mountain!  But I am going to make it there!  Or maybe I should say, it is a long way DOWN the mountain but I will make it there!  LOL

I hope I'm not aggrivating yall with my pre op diet details....I know they are probably senseless and pointless to yall!  But they kind of keep me from cheating knowing that I have to tell someone what I ate, lol!

The plain greek yogurt is good if you doctor it up with some sugar free flavored syrup and splenda. I usually make mine either vanilla or raspberry flavored. I have a big selection of the davinci sugar free syrups. It is not good plain unless using it as sour cream substitute.

You are not aggravating at all. You are doing quite well pre-op.

Had a change at lunch.   Ate at Olive Garden and had the Chicken and Gnocchi soup and salad!
