A little NSV

I was shopping around yesterday in one of my favorite discount finds stores - Tuesday Morning. When I got up to the cash register, the girl (who knows her "regular customers") said to me "I saw you walking down the aisles back there and I had to look twice! You are shrinking! What have you been doing?"  :)

I was having a rough day (yesterday was the 4th anniversary of my father's passing) and I really needed that. I don't think the girl realized how happy she made me.

It's nice when people notice!

I'm sorry you had a difficult emotional situation to handle (both of my parents are deceased....due to obesity related diseases).  I'm tickled you had this awesome experience that made you feel great!  This is just one of many, many more to come!

My father also died due to the stress that being overweight and smoking put on his body. He lost a lot of weight after his first heart attack in 1998, but he had put his body through quite a lot and passed in 2006 at a young 62.

I think he would be proud of my decision. He always wanted his kids to be happy and healthy.

You're right!!  It is very nice when people notice.  And it really can brighten your day no matter what you are going through.  I'm very sorry for the loss of your father.  Mine hasb een gone close to 15 years and I still have some very emotional days when I least expect it.

Keep on losing!!!!

Thank you, Debbie. Yes, sometimes I have dreams with him in them and sometimes I just see someone out in town that looks like him... those always get me...:(

Isn't it amazing how God puts someone in our path that can uplift our spirits when we are having a rough day? Congrats on your progress.
