BariatricSpecialist in Mobile, AL

Hello!

I have just moved to Mobile, AL and am looking for recommendations for good bariatrics doctors in the area that can and have performed WLS revisions.  I had a Molina band in 1988, had to have it removed March 2010.  I had some complications but my doctor in Texas said I should be able to do a RNY in six months to a year but I don't know this area and would like some recommendations.  Appreciate any help.

I wholeheartedly recommend the dr's in the Surgical Association of Mobile, P.A.group.  Dr. Weinstein, Hannon, Lane, Ringhold, Snow.  One of them no longer practices, but I dont know which one.  Lane was my surgeon as well as several of my friends (Weinstein assisted).  They specialize in bariatric surgery.

I didn't go with them after I had a fiasco with a local surgeon.  I would have had to travel 4 hours to them and they wouldn't work with me and my finished testing.  They wanted me to keep driving there for all their testing and classes.

I did find out about them and called them last week.  I mentioned my revision and was told:

1) we do not do "other" people's revisions even though my doctor was dead.
2) How come I wasn't doing my revision in Houston?  That shouldn't even matter.....

They are crossed off my list as unprofessionals but thanks for the help.

I to found their attitude RUDE. 

I ended up with Dr Freeman thanks to the recommendation of MANY people on this board.  I am so happy with Dr Freeman and his staff.  They worked with me as I had to drive over 4 hours.  They call to check on me, send me letters to update me.  The biggest plus for me is that Dr Freeman had RnY and KNOWS what it is like to be a bariatric patient.
