86 Days

ok, I got 86 days left of the 6 month wait. I go for the head shrink on Sept 2nd. Now.. can anyone tell me from the time when they send the paperwork to BC/BS, how long to get an approval, normally?

Took me 3 weeks.   I have federal BCBS.

After I got all the information they needed, I was approved pretty quickly! Don't be afraid to call BCBS and ask them the status after a couple of weeks! They should be able to tell you. They told me over the phone that an approval letter had been sent, so I called my surgeon and told them and we made appointments before the letters were even received. But, every surgeon's office may be different.

I got verbal approval 3 days after submitted to BCBS, and the letter within a week.

I have the State of Alabama BCBS. I found out the next day after paperwork was submitted.

 I have BCBS AL and I got my answer pretty quick.  Initially a denial, then after an appeal, I was quickly approved.  Good Luck!  and a word to the wise...keep up those monthly appointments until you get your approval, even after your six month.  I am glad I did.  Those 86 days will be behind you before you know it.
