You would think after 9 years I would learn that DIET or Zero or Sugar Free or Low Calorie  should  NOT pass the lips of this old gal.  I know we do not need to be drinking soft drinks of any kind but I get hard-headed and think I can try them "just a bit" without paying the price.

WELL my friends, I pay the price every blooming time.  Coke Zero and Sprite Zero is yummy to the tummy and added 10 pounds to my hips and thighs and all parts in between.

After I discovered my gallbladder, hiatal hernia/acid reflux problem--I decided it was time to go cold turkey.  Within 6 days of no soft drinks and going back on water and crystal light I was down 5 pounds.  Went back to the doctor yesterday and I am down another 6 pounds for a total of 11 pounds--keep in mind that I am having eating issues from the reflux.

Lesson learned.  NO MORE SOFT DRINKS UNLESS PHYSICIAN ORDERED

I know that cola's are my culprit.  I put them down for a week then gradually pick them back up.  I kid myself into saying, "I don't drink a full can - I just take a few sips".  It doesn't matter.  I need to do like you and just stop cold turkey.  Thank you for your honesty.  I know we can all do it.

Now, congratulations on those 11 pounds.  You can keep them off too!!!!

Somehow seeing those words, sugar free and low calorie and ZERO just suckered me right in.  I never ever liked Coke because my Grandma used it as a chaser to that dratted Caster oil   but somehow I loved did you hear me LOVED coke zero but no more.  I came clean!

My husband told me to start drinking the Zero to help get off of cokes but that didn't work.  I can't stand the taste of diet or zero.  I'm gonna have to just go cold turkey.

Good for you for giving those naughty drinks up!   THanks for sharing.  I have recently started partaking in a few Diet Pepsi's......time to walk away now.   Not wanting to re-gain!

I was a Tab girl before surgery and haven't had one since 6 months before surgery....I know if I have one, I'm hooked.  I really can't drink carbonation--it hurts and makes me belch (tried some champagne..thought I was gonna die!).  Now, I have found I can have an occasional beer....they make me belch like a truck driver but man, it is good!

I have never drank alcohol in my life but since surgery I can drink a diet drink and f**t like a trucker on a weekend bender.

Oh girl, maybe that's my problem with the F**ts.  LOL  Time for me to back away and maybe I will lose even more weight.  Hallelujah!   Woo hoo!  AND.....for the record....diet drinks are loaded with potassium of which mine runs dangerously HIGH!  So, I'm gonna cut 'em out as soon as I finish my last bottle, then I will buy no more.  Thank you for your confession.  Makes good sense to me.  Love you, Gwen.

I am not a beer drinker and carbonation hurts me.
However, I can get down a coupld of Smirnoff Ice's!  But they usually give me diarhea the next morning.
