Melt away Tuesday! Whatcha eatin? Exercising?

Okay, this heat has worn me out!  I went speed walking last night at 8:00 (did 3 miles in my hilly neighborhood in 40 minutes!) and it was STILL 92 degrees when I went!  I don't need to worry about losing anymore weight because the fat that is left will probably melt in this heat!

Speaking of losing more weight:  I'm cool with staying where I am.  I think my body is still "settling" into a new size.....I have on a dress today that I hadn't worn in a couple months and the part from the waist down is bigger than it was before.....I guess the exercise is changing the shape of whats left of me!

Today:

B-1 egg with 1 slice Velveeta and 1/2 ww eng muffin
S-Kashi bar
L-Lean Cuisine
S-cherries, Chobani peach yogurt
D-leftovers from Sunday-grilled steak, pork chop, sweet potato and salad
Dessert-NSA ice cream bar or watermelon (prob watermelon)

Exercise:  Tonight will be a weight workout P90X-something upper body (the bottom 1/2 is still in pain from the legs and back workout I did on Sunday!)

Yall have a good day and stay cool!  If you are exercising outside, make sure you do it early or late!!

I can totally relate to the heat. Its awful. Jayden has football practice in it. Every day except Wednesday. I think its a little much for 5-6 yr olds but im not the coach so i'll just go along with it. He keeps them hydrated well so i wont complain. Im about to start walking the track with another mom while they practice but not today LOL Its TOOOO HOT!!!

B-Protein Shake
L-cottage cheese w/ something this is still up in the air.
S-Protein Shake
D-cottage cheese w/ tomato (this is after 8 and i hate to eat that late but i dont have any other choice really)

im going to try to talk myself into the elliptical tonight.

So i completely changed mine up (well not completely... anywho, i sent Kim a message but it doenst seem to want to go thru so im posting it here

Ok, so i changed my mind about my eating today and plugged it in and this is what i come up with. Tell me what to change. when i start adding in "real" food is when i screw up.

B-Protein Shake
L-Hardee's LowCarb Chargrilled chicken club i know i wont eat all of it but the totals are for all of it.
S-Chobani Peach Yogurt
S(before ball)-Protein shake
D-Cottage Cheese

Here's my totals and percentage. ive never done the percentage thing so its where im confused.

Calories-950 (my goal is 1000 a day or less)
Fat-44g
Carbs-41g
Sugars-23g
Protein-98g (yay me!!)

Ok, percentage

Protein 41.18%
Fat 41.6%

I really don't know.  I am not good at tallying up my totals.  I keep a running protein count in my head everyday.  I aim for 60-70.  I was also advised to shop and eat from the perimeter of the stores only.....fresh and unprocessed.  Also helps keep calories down.

Only thing I can think is maybe your portions are too large.  Not sure how much cottage cheese and how large those protein shakes are.

I commend you for your dedication.  Don't think I could live on protein shakes again!  I HATED them!  lol

i eat 1/2 c of cottage cheese for breakfast/dinner if im eating it for lunch i sometimes up it to 3/4 c. but rarely.

Today i had half a lowcarb burger bc they screwed up the lowcarb chicken sandwich and so me and another lady swapped bc she isnt off bread she just likes the lowcarb burgers. She ate the sandwich and half of my lowcarbburger. Ouch!!

I dont normally live on protein shakes im just throwing them in for added protein. and i hate eating breakfast and dont have time normally.
i think my portions are ok because i measure everything now!!

thanks!! good idea about doing the perimeters of the store shopping!

Hey Hilary!  I got your email and responded to it.

I'll summarize--calories look okay (based on your limit of 1,000--but don't restrict that much for too long....your body will go into starvation mode) and your protein grams/percent is excellent.  The fat % seems high, but it is "good fat" so don't worry about it.  I'd like to see more fruits/veggies, but other than that looks okay (I never did protein shakes so I don't know a whole lot about them).

What concerns you about these numbers?

the fat count is what stressed me out. it seemed high. i dont know anything about the good fat bad fat lol.

Ive found the Atkins Advantage protein shakes and i LOVE them. 11oz of awesomeness!! The Mocha Latte is my fave! 15g of protein and less than 5carbs!

I havent been exercising every day. when i begin my p90x i'll up it to 1200calories maybe.

For fat:  if you are getting it from good, healthy foods (not adding it with lard, oils or spreads) you are fine.  Fat from dairy, nuts, meat etc should not alarm you.

I can't wait for you to join the P90X craziness!  I love it, and I hate it....if  you know what I mean....I love the fact I CAN DO IT, and I love how it makes me look and feel, but it does give you a "spankin"!

Hang in there girlfriend!  You are on the right track!

Well today is starts week 2 of the first phase of the P90X. I will do the core synergistics work out. It was good that yesterday was a day of rest. It is kicking me but in a good way. I really enjoy doing the workouts and believe they are actually working (hope it's not just wishful thinking).

I have to go pick up a few items from the grocery store, but other than that I'm staying in out of this heat.

B - carbmaster yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, HiLo cereal
S - protein shake if I get hungry
L - Tossed salad made with organic baby greens, sugar snap peas, grape tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, and some grilled chicken with a raspberry dressing. I might throw a kiwi on there who knows?
S - If I need one, it will be some almonds and nectarine or cheese stick and nectarine
D - Think I might grill some steak and have baked sweet potatoes and broccoli

Ya'll stay cool and drink lots of water.

So you like the P90X?!!  I still love it!  and yes, you will see results!  I cannot believe how toned I am getting, and my arms/shoulders look pretty darn good.  I am in month 3, and beginning to need more variety, so I'm going to buy the P90X Plus to work into my routines.  I am STILL sore after certain workouts...I did legs and back Sunday and I cringe everytime I sit down!  I am now to the point I can do the entire workouts and live to tell about it!

We were in the 3 digits yesterday and it was horrible.  As we were leaving work a thunderstorm popped up and I mean it poured!!  It actually cooled things off for a while.  I am not a summer person....give me spring and fall.

B - oatmeal, coffee
S - cottage cheese
L - Last night I put some chicken breasts in the crock pot and added brown rice this morning....so delicious and the chicken is falling off the bone.
S - not sure
D - more chicken and rice (I don't eat much because rice and I don't really get along too well)
