My 6-month (180-day) count down starts tomorrow!

Good morning!  My official 6-month (180 days) count down starts tomorrow.  I am excited, nervous, and READY!  I am trying to make small changes now.  No soft drinks.  I have a lot of trouble dealing with "head hunger".  How do you deal with this?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Head hunger is my biggest enemy.  I usually grab a cup of coffee.  It works for me but might not for anyone else.  I also keep a box of Cheerio's in my office.  I'll eat a handful if I get the munchies.  Dropping the cokes was easy for me right before surgery.  I got back on them a couple of years ago and went through some serious withdrawal a couple of weeks ago when I went off of them again!!    I wish you good luck and great success!!

Head hunger is evil. I still fight with it. I did not directly after surgery because my tummy would not let me eat because it would fill up. I struggle with it now because I can eat most anything that I want now.

Remember you can do hard things.

Good luck on your journey.

It is good to change habits now so it will be easier after surgery.  I too gave up carbonated beverages 6 months before surgery and haven't had one since.  I drink coffee when I think I'm hungry-the warm drink really works for me.  Try eating 6 small meals during the day--you'll be so busy eating all day long you wont feel hungry.  You are almost there!!

I gave up caffine completely about a week before my surgery and have not looked back.  The only thing that I drink are the powerade zeros, vitamin water zeros and of course reg water.  I feel so much better and do not crave any soda, tea or alcohol.  The one thing that has helped me with head hunger is keeping busy.  I am at tne point now that I have to remind myself to eat.   Maybe find things that will keep you busy and sometimes drinking a lot of fluid will help make you feel full so you dont think you are hungry.
