1 year postop checkup

I went for my one year post-op checkup today, yikes. He didn't seem to pleased with me, not that I can blame him. I've been sabotaging myself lately and have gained 2lbs. Not to mention I'm back on insulin which he blames me for, because I eat starches now and then. I must do better, motivation is gone sad to say. I know how lucky I am to have been given this chance to start over and I'm ******g it away, MUST DO BETTER. Anyway he seemed most concerned because my liver function test was elevated but wouldn't go into what that meant. He said not to be concerned with it yet and we'd check it again in a month. But I am concerned what does that mean, what can it do to me? Please help me understand if you can.
Thanxs, Amy

Hi Amy,

Liver enzymes can be elevated by many things....really there is no need to worry!  Trust me....your doctor will give you a heads up when it's time to worry.

As for him not being pleased;  well one year is not the end of your weight loss.  I continued to lose well into the second year.  But, do stop the self sabotage!  Eat healthy and drink your water.

Good Eating!

Lisa

First quit beating yourself up over making some bad choices. That never really helps anything. I know easier said than done.

Next, go back to basics. Protein first, good carbs, and lots of water.

Third, like Lisa said liver enzymes being elevated can mean many things. Do you still have your gallbladder? Could be a problem with that. I would not worry if my doc told me not to. Again, easier said than done.

Today is a new day. You can do hard things. Get back to basics and the weight will start to move downward once again.
