Sipsey Wilderness
Some of you are likely familiar with this area of our beautiful State-The Bankhead National Forest. Yesterday we had the pleasure of hiking with a guide to "The Big Tree"-the largest tree in our State. It is a Tulip Poplar that is several hundreds of years old and it is down in the canyon. This hike is quite challenging, and at one point while clinging to rocks for my life I almost cried like a girl! The payoff is worth it....the area by the tree with two waterfalls is truly a work of God's hands. The hike was 8 miles round trip and I am hurting in places where I didn't even know I had muscles, but I'd do it again in a minute--if you get the chance, please go see this treasure.
