Tuesday hugs
Sending hugs to all on this awesome Tuesday morning!!! You all have an awesome day today!!! I love y'all!!! The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
The fruit of the Spirit is first and foremost love. All of the other qualities associated with having the Holy Spirit flow from the presence of God's love in you. Joy is love enjoying all of the goodness of God. Peace is love resting on the promises of God. Longsuffering is love waiting for God to reveal to you and in you what He desires to reveal. Kindness is love reacting to those around you. Goodness is love choosing to do what is right in God's eyes. SO, if you truly have love, you have them all. However, if you do not have love, you have none. I have to ask for that love each and every day of my life. God will fill us with love if we only ask Him. It was a change for me, "little by little".
It is after 11:00 at night, but I am still appreciating your morning hugs. I just get my hugs later in the evening. I have been working on that darned budget and hope to be through with it tomorrow. We went to watch Owen play baseball tonight. He is on the coachpitch team this year. He played t-ball last year (Ethan is this year). He sure has improved. This is the first game we've seen. I've been too busy and working over at night so I've missed his first few. He's really gotten good. They won, 14 to 5! His T-ball team NEVER won. So, it was a good night.
I can hardly wait to see you and all the others on Saturday. Save a real hug for me. Richard and I are driving up Saturday morning and just staying for the day. We will be driving back that evening. It will be so worth it to see everyone. I'm so excited.
I love the scripture today. The fruits of the Spirit!! I have heard that the fruits of the Spirit are the product of the Gifts of the Spirit. Here they are as listed in the (NKJV)1 Corinthians 12: 4-11
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
When we are given the gift or gifts that the Spirit bestows upon us and we live in the Spirit, doing he will of God in our lives, then the fruits of the Spirit are the result. We will then live in love, joy, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. The Gifts of the Spirit support us in living our lives through the with the Fruits. The fruits and gifts will work together to sustain each other and in turn, sustain us in our Love of God and in the Lord's work we are called to do. I know I have the gift of discernment. I don't know that it is the discernment of spirits, but more in the area of wisdom and knowledge. This is something I have not pursued as I should. I just know that I know or discern things and have learned that I should always listen to that 'feeling' when it happens. When I don't listen, it is ALWAYS a disaster. When I do listen, I ALWAYs realize it was God. Please pray with me that I will ALWAYS listen to that voice of God and will pursue the answers He has for me. I love you Carmen.
