Looking for a follow up (Medipass) doctor

Good morning Bama board!

  I live in Pensacola,Fl. About an hour from Mobile, AL  I was hoping you ladies would

know of a doctor somewhat to the Mobile area that I could have my follow up care with.

Do to having medipass, I traveled to Gainesville, Fl for my RNY surgery. I do love my doctor

but HATE the 5+ hour drive to see him and the $$ of hotels. I did that for 5 months and

hope to not have to again.

South MS Surgical Weight Loss Center in Ocean Springs, MS - Dr. William Avara - they have a website.  Maybe 1 hour from Mobile.  Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Alabama Board. I live in Mobile and I My surgeon is Dr. L. Steven Weinstein of Surgical Associates of Mobile. I don't know what medipass is or if they accept it.

They are a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence. This is what it says on their website: All five of our physicians have received Bariatric Center of Excellence (COE) designation. This recognition, earned by Surgical Association's Dr. Lamar Snow, Dr. Steve Weinstein, Dr. Jeffrey Hannon, Dr. Daniel Lane, MD and Dr. Forrest Ringold, MD demonstrates their commitment to quality surgical care for bariatric patients.

The address is3 Mobile Infirmary Circle, Suite 212, Mobile, AL 36607 (251)433-2609. As I said I used Dr. Weinstein. He is one of the senior doctors. The other one is Dr. Lamar Snow...I would not recommend him for several reasons I won't go into. The other doctors are good as far as I know. Others can tell you. The only one i know of in Mobile is Dr.Snow and my family doc said he is GREAT!
